The AI assistant
Describe jewelry and scrap in plain language, review what the assistant priced before adding it, and know its daily limit and what it will not do.
Updated
By the end of this page you have described a handful of pieces in a sentence or two and added them to the workspace, priced, without touching the wizard.
Describing items
Open the tab
In the workspace panel head, switch from Workspace to AI Assistant. The chat opens with “Describe what you have” and an example. The status strip shows how many of today’s messages you have used.
Write what you have
One message can hold several items. Give each one a metal and a weight, and anything else you know: “A 14k gold ring, 5.2 grams, with a half carat round diamond, VS1 and G colour, plus about 30 grams of sterling silver scrap.” Press Enter to send; Shift+Enter starts a new line.
Where you leave something out, the assistant assumes and says so:
- weights are in grams unless you say otherwise;
- “gold” with no karat means 14K, “silver” means sterling, “platinum” means 950;
- a stone’s weight is in carats and is subtracted from the piece’s weight.
It asks a question only when an item cannot be priced at all, typically because there is no weight.
Review the reply
The reply names each item with its value and a grand total, and notes any stone it could not price. Every number comes from the same calculation the workspace uses, from live spot prices and your diamond value matrices; the assistant never estimates a price itself. Check the assumptions it lists. If one is wrong, say so (“the ring is 18K”) and it prices again.

Press Add 2 items to workspace under the reply. The button changes to “Added to workspace” with a View workspace shortcut, and the items appear as ordinary cards that you can edit, duplicate or delete like any other. Each reply can be added once.
New chat in the status strip clears the conversation. The chat is not saved: switching tabs keeps it, reloading the page does not.
The daily limit
Each subscriber can send a fixed number of assistant messages per day, 30 unless the site says otherwise, counted on a UTC day. The status strip shows “12 of 30 messages today”. When the allowance is used up the composer is disabled, with the time it resets shown in your local time. Items you have already added stay.
What it will not do
- Coins. The assistant creates jewelry and scrap items. Add coins through the wizard, where the catalog fills in the weight and composition; see Adding coins.
- Price coloured stones. Sapphires, rubies and the rest subtract weight but add no value, just as in the wizard. Diamonds are priced only when you have an active matrix for the cut.
- Guess. It will not invent a spot price or a stone value, and it declines questions that are not about metals, jewelry or valuation. It will explain how WITVT calculates a value.
- Replace a test. Like the wizard, it trusts the purity you give it.
A conversation holds up to 40 messages and a message up to 4,000 characters; start a new chat for a new batch. One reply can add up to 50 items.
Your messages
What you type, the rest of that chat and your pricing settings are sent to Anthropic, the provider of the model, to produce the reply. WITVT counts your messages and logs usage but does not store the conversation. Do not put other people’s personal details in a message. Privacy and your data has the details.
